GBP Publication Ethic Policies

The publishing ethics and editorial policies of the academic journals within Genç Bilge Publishing (GBP) have been determined specific to each journal, as well as the principles regarding its general framework. In determining these principles, it strictly adheres to the basic guiding principles established by institutions such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the European Association of Science Editors (EASE), and the Council of Science Editors (CSE). GBP will make necessary updates to these policies. It is sensitive to the training of each staff member in the editorial process in GBP's academic journals.

Visibility of Journal Imprint

In each of the GBP journals, pages are created where all the detailed information of that journal is given. Authors can access all kinds of information about the journal as a summary. For example Rast Musicology Journals’ Imprint.  

 

Privacy Policy

In the Dergipark Journal System and Open Journal System used by GBP, all personal information of the authors is protected within the framework of the "Personal Data Protection Law". GBP takes all kinds of precautions and obligations in this regard.

Archiving Policy

GBP uses the LOCKSS system offered by Dergipark Journal System and Open Journal System.

Repository Policy

All journals of GBP are open access journals. Authors have the right to make their articles publicly available under the terms of Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0). GB does not just embargo the Published Version of the Article. Institutional archives operated by local and foreign universities and non-profit research institutions, websites of research fund organizations that support the research of the article, personal website(s) of the author, and non-commercial online thesis archives by complying with the rules regarding the reuse of the author's article. Besides; social media accounts of the author and his friends (such as Google groups, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), academic social media accounts of the author and his friends (such as Researchgate, AcademiaEdu, Mendeley, Google Scholar).

 

Ethical Principles and Operation of Journal Ethics Units

GBP follows and accepts the internationally accepted publishing ethical principles and applies them in all its processes. In particular, the journal team (publisher, editors, reviewers etc), about the accumulation and experiences of Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) over the years, participates in discussions, shares and sets good examples in order to educate itself.

GGP has determined ethic statements based on Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editor, Core Practices and Guidelines. These ethical principles must be followed by all stakeholders of RMJ (publisher, editors, reviewers, authors). GBP is responsible for constantly updating its ethical principles and publication policies, and all stakeholders are responsible for being aware of and complying with these updated principles and policies.

Regarding the hesitation experienced in practices related to ethical problems; Under the chairmanship of the chief editor, the Journal Ethics Unit (JEU), which consists of 4 members of the editorial board and 5 people in total (determined by privacy policy), undertakes the task of consulting. In order to increase the accuracy of its decisions, the JEU should seek advice from institutions that work with international ethical issues.

Plagiarism Policy

The GBP specifies the definition and types of plagiarism in all its journals, and the rates that are accepted as plagiarism in similarity reports.

All articles submitted to a GBP journal for publication are cross-checked for plagiarism using Turnitin/iThenticate software. It also explains the JEU's "Plagiarism Action Plan and GBP Journal Precautions" in case plagiarism is encountered.

Retraction/Withdrawal Policy

Withdrawal may occur if there is an error in the original version of this article or if it was inadvertently submitted twice to both GBP journals and/or a different publisher. Retraction of the Article, which is out of this; If an article is found to violate scientific ethics, such as double submission, claims of scientific ethics violations, plagiarism, use of fake data, fake authors, or the like, the article will be deleted. In these cases, how the editors will act is stated in detail.

 

Complaints & Appeals Policy

Authors whose articles have been published in GBP journals should make a complaint to the editorial e-mail of the relevant journal within 12 months after the article is published. Evidence must be presented in the complaint email.

Peer Review Policy

The editorial team is committed to the rapid evaluation and publication of articles submitted to GBP journals. To maintain a high quality publication, all submissions go through a rigorous review process. The features of the peer review process are as follows:

The editor asks the author(s) about the conflict of interest when making the decision to accept publications and articles. In addition, authors cannot do unethical things such as adding authors during the article evaluation process.

Subject to the peer-review policy of GBP journals' editors, submissions are generally reviewed by at least 2 field experts (referees) as recommended by the editorial board or independent reviewers.

Price Policy

GBP journals are open access journals and do not charge any fees for most of the journals. However, some GBP journals may set the Article Processing Charge regarding editorial processes and operating processes of journals. Whether there is an Article Processing Fee, how much it is, and how to determine the waiver status are detailed on the GBP journals websites.
